Today’s rapidly changing business landscape demands usage of sophisticated technologies. 3D Laser scanning is one such sought after technology, a tool for increasing productivity and facilitating the creation of a 3D digital file for an object not in existence before. Scanning a 3D image and sending the scan to prototyping or CAD software programs not only facilitates cost-savings, but also eliminates hours of painstaking work. It provides a measurable difference for improved quality and accelerated time-to-market, while reducing costs for new products.

What’s 3D Laser Scanning?
It’s a technique wherein a 3-D laser scanner, which is an advanced type of survey/measurement instrument, is used to remotely measure surface geometry of sites and structures with extraordinary completeness, accuracy and speed. 3D Laser Scanner does not require any special reflectors and performs the task of measurement by analyzing the properties of a portion of the instrument's laser beam energy that is reflected back by any surface.

e-mug Technologies has immense experience in 3D Laser Scanning and offers highly effective solutions in the production of dense, clean data from complex machined parts that is required for the reverse engineering of a CAD-compatible surface. In addition, we also perform the following tasks:

Use 3D scanning along with inspection and measurement tools like Faro arm to gauge design geometry of part or the sample and then generate surface/solid models for virtual prototyping; and
Undertake laser prototyping technique to develop a rapid prototype. The mock-up can be in any material combinations of ABS plastics, Nylons, PPS. Laser sintering process could also be adopted to derive a metallic prototype for Tool and Dies for design evaluation and confirmation

We have a robust infrastructure that includes 5 axis non contact Laser digitizer as well as a 7 axis portable laser digitizer using which any complex shape can be digitized.

3D Laser Scanning offers the following benefits
• Extremely accurate data
• Large amount of data and coverage area
• Rapid data capture; and
• Remote data capture
